For property developers, it’s vitally important to secure pre-sales off-the-plan.

Now with interest rates rising, ongoing supply chain shortages and labour market squeezes, that vital sales flow has never been more critical.

Teamlink is an award-winning proptech that can help.

In May 2022, I was honoured to be invited by Australia’s peak body for proptech, the Proptech Association Australia (PTAA), to be an expert guest on The Proptech Panel to talk about how proptech maximises sales for property developers.

Here’s the download from the discussion.

PTAA: Walton, please introduce Teamlink to us, what is your elevator pitch?

WC: Teamlink is actually very simple, we are an AI driven SaaS platform that connects property developers and real estate agents with buyers and renters in real-time through an instantaneous, transparent digital solution.

PTAA: Sounds like you are a super app! Tell us a bit more about the specific problems you saw in the property market where you thought there has to be a technology solution for this.

WC: Firstly, we used our understanding of the property development process where the most difficult and challenging part is achieving the pre-construction pre-sales targets and establishing the overall project marketing plan. Teamlink is helping to solve these pain points by giving developers the ability to keep up to date with the status of each of their current projects. Developers who are dealing with a large number of projects can benefit from Teamlink, as each project is updated in real-time through the Teamlink app, replacing meetings, emails, messages, phone calls and paperwork.

PTAA: Can you tell us about the technology that you’ve already developed at Teamlink?

WC: At the moment we have a one-stop digital platform with three live web portals each designed for a specific end-user: 1) the developer, 2) the agency, and 3) the clients. Teamlink is very easy to use as there is also a mobile app. Teamlink can be used for any part of the property development process from identifying pre-qualified buyers to easily communicating with clients. Teamlink’s technology is not designed to replace human beings, we are just creating a very unique ‘virtuous circle’ between all parties. Additionally, agents can also show their clients VR and 3D models of properties through our 3D technology showing clients how the building will look after completion. Previously we would have only been able to rely on simple CGI and buyers had to visualise how a building was going to look.

PTAA: What you’re doing at Teamlink with online and offline collaboration is really interesting. What kind of feedback are you getting from developers and clients?

WC: Last year we were in beta and this year we soft launched in February.  We have received positive feedback from developers, agents and clients who have successfully been able to check real-time sales updates through one-click and generate everything they need like reports and updates for every step of the process. We have also received positive feedback for our ability to remove the need for developers and agents to carry physical marketing collateral and brochures; now they just need one finger to click on our app. We are eliminating paper which is good for our own ESG impact as well as for property developers and agents too.

PTAA: Can you give us a sneak peek of what is on the development road map for Teamlink?

WC: We have positioned Teamlink as a super app and we have extra features and applications to develop. In the next six months we are aiming to have a ‘Finance Brokers and Solicitors’ portal developed to include those parties and simultaneously keep them updated. In the next 6 to 12 months we need to train our patented AI algorithms with lots of data and machine learning and that will dramatically help developers and agents to maximise sales.

PTAA: Are you using data to pre-qualify buyers, and find who is the right fit for properties?

WC: When buyers register, our algorithm will screen their registration, perform a background check and monitor their activity, either through the app or on our web page so we can see how qualified they are as a buyer.

PTAA: Lastly, Walton, how did you get into property entrepreneurship?

WC: I was a medical orthopedist in China, but my medical degree is not recognised in Australia and it is a very long process to get a local licence.  So to make a long story short, I had to start over. I ended up starting my own property marketing company which I listed on the National Stock Exchange.  Over the last 15 years, I have discovered a lot of pain points in traditional real estate businesses, and as a doctor I always like to fix things!  Nowadays, technology can help fix so many pain points and that is how my imagination went from medicine, to property, and finally to proptech.
